Yesterday, Al-Hayat Centre arranged a Youth Iftar & I’tekaaf for teenagers who took part in our Taraweeh, spent time with Shaykh Rizwan holding formal and informal talks/Q&A’s, assisted in arranging and preparing the food for Iftar, and leading their own as well as, participating in the Qiyamul Layl. There was also time for them to enjoy a game or two on the PlayStation before resting up for the night.
Just last week, we were blessed with 60-70 kids between the ages of 5-12 for the Ramadan Workshop and Children’s Iftar and that too, was a resounding success with students really enjoying their time here.
We will keep offering these types of services and youth facilities and it is precisely because of this, we are looking for your support to purchase Unit 4 and set up as the 1st Islamic ethos-inspired Youth Centre in Southampton. We have 10 Musallas remaining and we aim- at the very least- to complete those sponsorships by the end of this month inshallah.

Dear brothers & sisters,
At Al-Hayat Centre we will be completing the recital of the Quran on Monday 8th of April corresponding to the 29th night of Ramadan, inshallah.
Our honoured guest Shaykh Luqman Ul Hakim Bin Marzuki has done an absolutely fantastic job facilitating this honour for us all. Shaykh Luqman has diligently led the Taraweeh, Qiyamul Layl including the rest of the prayers, and will continue to do so until the end of this blessed month. May Allah reward our Qaris abundantly for their hard work, dedication and the resilience they have shown, and love for the Quran they have inspired in the hearts of the congregants.
So please do join us for Isha prayer (9:20pm) followed by Taraweeh and then Qiyamul Layl at 3am, today to the end of Ramadan. Please do bring the children on the Khatm so we can provide them with gifts and refreshments inshallah. It will be a nice experience for them.

Ali Ibn Hussain (ra) narrates from his father that the Prophet ﷺ said: “He who observes the ten days I’tikaf during Ramadan will obtain the reward of two Hajj & two Umrah.” (Bayhaqi)

Ibn Abbas (RA) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said, (about him who engages in i’tikaf), “that he is safe from sin & he also gets that reward which everyone (outside of i’tikaf) gets for pious deeds.” (Ibn Majah)

What an amazing opportunity for us to gain such immense & abundant rewards, as well as proximity to Allah and His Messenger. Alongside the extensive reward, this is a unique and wonderful opportunity to strengthen & boost our imaan (faith) for the rest of the year.

VIRTUES OF RAMADAN & KIDS IFTAR
This coming Saturday 30th of March between 3:30-7:30pm, Al-Hayat Centre will be holding its annual Ramadan Workshop which has in its first 2 years, hosted over 200 young children. Last year also saw the release of our _Children’s Ramadan Book & Journal_- our very own publication and a must have for every parent. Inshallah, we will have more copies available this Workshop as well.
The spaces are limited and we encourage all parents with children between the ages of 5–12 to apply as soon as possible and register their interest. The cost of the Workshop is £15 with an additional £5 for the Children’s Book. Contact us for more information and complete the application form.

On the last day before the half term break, the students at Al-Hayat Madrassah learnt about the history of the Palestinian suffering and the significance of the land of Palestine for each and every Muslim.
They discussed the historical context of the Palestinian struggle, the ideal Muslim response and the importance of turning to Allah during times of comfort and difficulty. The students had opportunities to ask questions and become more informed in order to raise the Palestinian voice and keep their fight for freedom and justice forever in our hearts and minds.
May Allah bless our brothers and sisters in the occupied territories with continued resilience, courage and honour in the face of such adversity. Ameen.

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,
By the grace of Allah, we were once again blessed with a productive day at Al-Hayat Madrassah. This last week has seen further Qaidah & Quran (Islamic Studies Graduates), as well as provided students with an opportunity to get into the spirit of Hajj & Eid-ul-Adha.
During this last week, students as young as 5 were taught the Hajj in an engaging and experiential way that included them performing the ritual having memorised the talbiya. They also took part in designing Eid Greetings cards for their loved ones, while the younger students engaged in some ‘Colouring the Ka’bah’ and ‘Drawing the crescent’ activities. They ended the day with small Eid gifts to take home and enjoy, Alhamdulillah.
